A Meditation for You: Reconnecting With Your Body (Even When It Feels Far Away)

There are seasons when it’s easy to feel like your body and mind are on two different planets. You're doing all the things, answering all the texts, showing up, but inside, there’s this low hum of disconnection. Like you're floating just slightly outside yourself.
I’ve been there. And I’ve learned that sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is pause not to fix, but to simply notice.
Here’s a short practice I come back to when I need to soften the space between my body and my mind. You don’t need to light a candle or sit a certain way. Just bring your breath, your presence, and a little willingness to come home.
If you don't have the time to listen to the guided meditation, follow these steps :)
🌿 Mini Mind-Body Connection Meditation (5–7 minutes)
1. Find Stillness.
Sit or lie down somewhere quiet-ish. Let your body rest without needing to hold itself a certain way. You don’t need to “get it right” just land and give yourself permission to be comfortable.
2. Take 3 Gentle Breaths.
In through the nose…Out through the mouth.Let your exhale be just a little longer than your inhale. Let your shoulders drop. Let your belly soften.
3. Choose One Anchor.
Pick one part of your body to place your attention on, it could be your heart. The smell of the essential oil on your hands. Your feet. Or the space between your eyebrows. Wherever you choose, just rest your awareness there like you’re placing a hand on a friend’s shoulder.
4. Invite the Question.
Silently ask:“How are you feeling, body?” Then wait. Don’t try to answer with your brain. Let your body speak in sensation. Warmth. Tightness. Fluttering. Numbness. There’s no wrong answer.
5. Stay With It. Let yourself sit with whatever you notice. No fixing, no judging.Just presence.Just breath.Just you, listening to you.
Even a few minutes of this can gently begin to restore the thread between your thinking mind and your feeling body.
You don’t have to feel fully connected to be healing; you just have to be willing to listen.
If this practice resonates with you, I invite you to come back to it as often as you need.
With love, Angelyn
